Mental Health First Aiders

About the course

This 2 day course is aimed at anyone who is seeking to develop the skills and confidence to recognise the signs and symptoms of common mental health issues and effectively guide a person towards the right support.

On full completion of the course you will achieve Mental Health First Aider certification. The course will always be delivered by two qualified professional practitioner's to ensure that your day remains informative, varied and enjoyable.

Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) is an internationally recognised training course, and just like physical first aid, it will teach you to listen, reassure and respond, even in a crisis.

Adult MHFA courses are for everyone aged 16 upwards. Your course is delivered by a quality assured instructor who has attended MHFA England's Instructor Training program, accredited by the Royal Society for Public Health. Each instructor is trained to keep people safe and supported while they learn.

  • Practical skills to spot the triggers and signs of mental health issues
  • Confidence to step in, reassure and support a person in distress
  • Enhanced interpersonal skills such as non-judgmental listening
  • Knowledge to help someone recover their health by guiding them to appropriate support

Courses range from 8-16 participants and full attendance of the 2 days is required to qualify for certification. The course runs from 9am-5pm both days. It is essential to attend all of the course in order to qualify as a mental health first aider.
